Yup, "+'s," meaning I think this is a significant achievement in my works of art. I feel this is the most detail intensive colored pencil drawing I have done to date, finally outdoing the previous one that stood for years, Aero Alacrity. [link] How ironic. The same character.
*phew* Finally finished this after a few days of work. The design for this "modern kimono" I had in my head for a few days, then I sketched it out in an oC session with ~MythTrainerInfinity, and finally I put it down in a polished sketch on paper. The coloring took a little less then a week of off and on work. What makes me happy about this is that THIS IS NOT A POKEMON. Totally original design. Only two references used. This photo of ~chibinis-chan [link] (for the obi [waist thingy]) and this traditional piece by ^Katmomma [link] (for the sleeves and also obi). Basically, I think of this original designed kimono to be in five parts. The two sleeves, the slip on "robe", the obi, and the platform flip-flops like the ones seen in this doodle: [link] . The patterns are of clockworks as I call it, not by that derogatory sounding "steampunk" title. Oh noes! Critique is on because I have a subscription! Please do not butcher my baby too bad. T_T This may be one of the rare pictures I will go back and add stuff to fix it. Keep in mind, this is done exclusively in Prismacolors, meaning I can add stuff but I cannot take away or change stuff. The eyes! My eyes! I cannot believe I screwed up on something I have done nearly perfectly on so many pictures. I know they are bad. Please excuse them. The eyes I draw I always take great pride in their perfection. I feel let down I messed up here.... Well, I think that is about all there is to mention about this piece. Thank you for looking. ^^ Aerisis and art (c) me, Martin J. Owen (Prismacolor usage list will be updated later) CommentsCool overall concept with the outfit. I adore clocks in work, especially older-styled ones. They pop out well. My favorite part is definitely the obi! Truthfully I wish most of the kimono had that level of detail, as the eye only needs so much space to rest. The contrast seems too much in certain places, and the sleeves have a very thick, round, yet unnatural feel. Generally speaking it just doesn't seem like your darkest darks and lightest lights are spread out realistically, and the lack of a background doesn't seem to help that. The fold where the foot is lifting up the dress seem a lot more natural than anything on the sleeves, but her center of balance seems a little off, I feel her legs should maybe be more to the right. I understand you didn't use refs, which is great and shows a lot of visualization skill, but at the same time her pose seems kinda awkward from the torso down.
Regardless, it's obvious you put a lot of effort and thought into this, especially the outfit, and it shows. It's a great combination influences. -- Aqua super vinum Zeh! ^___^ See what happens when someone pushes ya a bit? That's what I'm here to do.

-- My photos (cat): ~The-ShadowCat When in doubt, Google! 私は日本語を勉強します。 Pushed? c.c? Maybe so. I do not remember very well. I do not even remember when I started this. I just know it was a day or two after we oCed and I got the design down for the first time. So thank you anyways. ^^
