Description

*sigh* I decided to go on a memory lane of long lost picture accidentally deleted from DA because of a stupid problem. The picture you see above was the second original picture I ever drew that was shaded with the first coming only a week before this. This picture, along with the other was the beginning of my journey through are. I personally thing this one here is the true starter of it all. Everything before it was just doodles or cheap line arts and Crayola colored pencil pictures for failed contests.

This Umbreon and Espeon picture was the first picture in a long chain of victories in the =EeveeFanClub finally defeated by =koishii-kitty in November of 2004 yet winning two or three more contests for the club the following year. I kinda considered this the good old days in the club when I was on top. Well, that time has come and gone as now I cannot stand up to anime like artists for contests there. I learned that same lesson at *pokedorks. Realistic surrealism just is not a popular choice in pictures now.

I do not care. I am tired of contests. I do not plan to enter any for a long time unless I feel there is a chance to win or it is macro related to my tastes. I take competitions very seriously and am a sore looser except for when I truly believe the person that beat me was good and the only person that was regularly that was =koishii-kitty, or at least in her older style of arts before she adopted the big heavy lines in a lot of her works. You know me! I am bias against outlines, so its not her fault at all.

=D

Well, there I go rambling on and I will likely get flamed for some of these comments but I really do miss my good old days in art where I was extremely productive and could dump huge amounts of hours into not just many pictures, but each picture. "Eyes of the Storm" [link] remains my most intensive picture in terms of time ever done (75+ hours... the actual time may never be known for it took a whole month to do).

*sigh* Someday my true passion for art will return to me.
